The Dutch are now unbeaten in over 20 games and they have a 100% record in the World Cup at the moment. Bert van Marwijk’s team have not been specialising in spectacular performances, although it’s all about being effective in this tournament, with Mark van Bommel and Nigel de Jong protecting the defence superbly.
While the Slovaks slotted three goals home against Italy, they should have a few more difficulties against a Netherlands team who should be on the front foot from the early stages. The manager must surely gamble with the fitness of Arjen Robben after a brilliant cameo appearance against Cameroon, especially as Rafael van der Vaart is the weak link.
With Robin Van Persie being supported by Wesley Sneijder, it’s likely that Holland might just be too good for the World Cup rookies, although they are plenty short enough in the match betting and it might take until after the interval for them to achieve a breakthrough.
