Algeria packed their midfield, employed a lone striker and seldom threatened aggression while Slovenia looked simply ponderous.

Abdelkader Ghezza could stake a fair claim for the worst performancee of the World Cup so far. Coming on as a substitute, Ghezza was sent off for two bad tackles and in between managed to miss a glaring chance to put Algeria ahead. Neither team looked a threat to the United States or England.
